The Sewickley Creek Watershed is a 168 square mile area in Southwestern Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Like many streams and creeks in southwestern Pennsylvania, the Sewickley Creek Watershed suffers from abandoned mine drainage. The Sewickley Creek Watershed Association is dedicated to monitoring and improving the quality of water in the Sewickley Creek Watershed.

Projects

The Watershed Association does not just work to improve waterways. The association also builds and maintains canoe and kayak launches, stocks fish in the Sewickley Creek, plants trees, and much more.

Get Involved

In 1991, a group of concerned citizens founded the Sewickley Creek Watershed Association. The watershed association still relies on the support of the community. Consider becoming a member, joining the committee, or making a donation.

The Watershed Association meets at 7:00 pm on the third Thursday of every month at the lower level of
the J. Roy Houston Conservation Center (WCD Barn), 218 Donohoe Rd, Greensburg, PA 15601.
